‘Icebreaker’ Hockey Romance Series Takes Center Stage as Cast is Revealed

Okay hockey romance fans, it’s time to get together and do some icebreakers!

Just kidding; however, Hannah Grace’s sports romance book, “Icebreaker,” is getting a Netflix series adaptation, and fans now have a first look at who will be playing their favorite characters from the University of California, Maple Hills universe.

Daisy Jelley and Connor Simos will star as Anastasia Allen and Nate Hawkins in Netflix’s upcoming series adaptation of “Icebreaker” by Hannah Grace.

Joining Jelley and Simos are: Gabriel Tierney as Aaron Carlisle, Auliʻi Cravalho as Lola Mitchell, Peter Berry as Robbie Mitchell, Chaneil Kular as JJ Johal, Devin Craig as Henry Turner, and Aidan Shaw as Russ Callaghan.

I am very excited to see Devin Craig and Chaneil Kular back on my screen. Both men were on the HBO Max series “The Sex Lives of College Girls,” and I wanted more for both of their characters.

And if Netflix picks up the series for two more seasons, we will get to see Kular be the best guy on the hockey team with the greatest wisdom, and Craig as the leading man (book three follows Henry and his love interest).

“Icebreaker”, the first book of the series, follows UCMH students Nate Hawkins and Anastasia (Stassie) Allen as they embark on an enemies-to-lovers trope. Nate, the UCMH hockey captain, is a promising young hockey player who was drafted to the Vancouver Vikings right out of high school, but opted to graduate from college before signing. Stassie is an ice skater with her goals set on going to the Olympics with her skating partner.

So what happens when one of their ice rinks gets trashed? Both the ice skating team and the hockey team have to find a way to coexist in one rink. And it doesn’t help that Nate is at the top of Stassie’s shit list, or so she thinks.

“Icebreaker” is the first of the books in the UCMH series from Hannah Grace, followed by “Wildfire” and “Daydream”.
